Maintaining Your SEBO
Replacing Bags and Filters
To ensure your SEBO vacuum runs at its best, regularly replace the bags and filters. This helps maintain optimal airflow and suction, boosting cleaning performance and preventing motor damage caused by overly full or dirty bags and filters.
-
Bags
For best use, change the bag every 3 months or when full, whichever comes first. At this rate, one box of bags should last about 2 years.
-
Filters
For best use, replace filters every 10-20 bags or after using two full boxes of bags (16). At this rate with average home use, filters will last about 4 years.
-
Pet Owners
Due to the extra organic matter vacuumed up, such as dander, hair, feces, and urine, we recommend changing your filters every year, or two at most.
Each SEBO vacuum model comes with detailed instructions for locating and replacing bags and filters. You can find these instructions in the user manual included with your vacuum. You can also download a manual on the product pages of our website.
SEBO filters are not washable and washing them will reduce their effectiveness and may damage the vacuum. Likewise, SEBO vacuum bags cannot be reused. Washing filters or reusing bags will void your warranty.
Clogs and Blockages, Oh My!
SEBO vacuums are designed for easy blockage removal. Always remember to unplug the machine before you begin.

Check Bags and Filters
Before searching for a clog, ensure the bag isn't full and the filters aren't too dirty, as this may trigger the blockage indicator if the airflow is significantly restricted.

Looking for Clogs
To locate a clog, visually inspect the hose, wand, and, if applicable, the orange trap door on the power head's underside. Also, check the connection at the power head or floor tool. Once you find the blockage, carefully remove it, avoiding sharp tools to prevent damage.
If you are unable to find or clear a blockage, please contact your local SEBO dealer to schedule a service appointment.
Brush Roller Maintenance
Hair and stringy debris can easily get tangled in the brush roller, blocking airflow and reducing suction. Luckily, it's easy to remove the brush roller for easy, do-it-yourself maintenance.
Over time, the bristles may wear down, much like a toothbrush losing effectiveness, and should be replaced to ensure your vacuum performs at its best.

Brush Roller Removal
To remove the brush roller for cleaning or replacement, press the button on the power head end and rotate the end cap downward, following the arrows. Once the end cap is removed, slide the brush roller out. After cleaning or replacing it, slide the roller back in, reattach the end cap, and lock it in place.
Prevent Vacuum Smells
Vacuums can develop unpleasant odors due to the buildup and breakdown of organic materials in the bag or filters. This is especially common in homes with pets. Once a vacuum develops an odor, it can be tough to completely eliminate.
To prevent odors, regularly replace your bags and filters, and remove partially full bags if storing your vacuum for a long period.
For added freshness, you can use SEBO Fresh scented capsules, which help refresh the air while you vacuum. If your SEBO vacuum has already developed a smell, reach out to us for cleaning tips, or schedule a servicing with a SEBO dealer near you.
